Steve’s Bio

After becoming a follower of Christ in 1968, I served six years on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ, helping pastors with evangelism and discipleship, directing the National Conference on Church Management, and coordinating Crusade’s 1976 nationwide “I Found It” campaign through two large counties in California.

After earning my MDiv in 1981, I spent 25 years as a senior and associate pastor. In 1998, I began teaching at Nairobi International School of Theology (now International Leadership University) in Kenya. Invitations from students to train pastors in their home countries inspired me to launch International Training & Equipping Ministries (ITEM) in 2003, equipping untrained pastors with Bible, theology, and preaching tools for 22 years.

In 2017, God gave me a new vision: to help the next generation of leaders navigate the growing challenges to their faith posed by the internet and social media. This led to the creation of a Next Generation Ministry, focused on using apologetics to prepare and equip young believers and their leaders to answer tough questions about Christianity, truth, and meaning.

I’m excited to bring my passion for practical apologetics to Apologetics On Mission!

As of 2025: 75 trips to Africa and counting.
